This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 5–10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Iza Whiskey and Eats at (919) 869-7322; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is izaeats.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 503 reviews, which is a strong result for a restaurant in Carrboro and suggests consistent service.

A gem hiding in plain sight!! We stopped in for dinner Thursday night and were seated very quickly at a bright corner table. Our waiter Gabe was very attentive, kind and efficient. We had amazing cocktails: a Japanese Sour and a Ginger Mule and a house Sauvignon Blanc. We shared 4 fresh and delicious small plates: bao buns, tuna tartare, crab Rangoon and a bbq ?fish taco. The tartare was the standout - high quality, buttery fish, crispy chips, large portion. We had 2 bento boxes with exquisite sashimi. We shared the IZA Crunch roll, the 007 and the Sin City rolls. Each was excellent!! The owner came to check on us several times and our waiter was quick to refill our water, clear plates, and offer extras. An absolutely FABULOUS experience in Carrboro 🍱🍣 πŸ₯ƒ. We will be back for $5 Sunday Margaritas with rolls at the bar! Thank you Chef

Outstanding. Appetizers, sushi and mains were all delicious. The tuna tartare app, Skull Island sushi roll and chili garlic noodles were my personal favorites. Liam took excellent care of us; what a delightful, mature young man. Already looking forward to our next visit!

Stopped in hungry after a late show at Cat's Cradle and this place hit the spot. We started with the crispy brussel sprouts small plate and unagi eel omakase, both delicious. The tonkatsu ramen broth was an extremely rich emulsion of proteinaceous goodness, with a really nice black mushroom oil - you can tell this boiled for days. And the spicy seafood noodle soup was a hearty and generously portioned stew of squid, prawns, and tender yellowtail fish. The owner, Yung, was super friendly, and the atmosphere was lush but quiet.

Had a wonderful experience at Iza Whiskey & Eats. A unique concept that blends creative cuisine, an impressive whiskey selection, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The food was flavorful and thoughtfully prepared, while the cocktails and spirits added an extra layer to the experience. A great spot for a relaxed evening with friends or a date night in Carrboro.

My wife and I traveled over an hour from Greensboro just to get something better and we were not disappointed. The sushi was excellent. Its hard to believe that this was the same species of fish. It was fresher and more flavorful than most of your typical sushi joints. The real wasabi, (not the green horseradish paste) put the flavor over the top. The brussel sprouts are rarely done right and these were fantastic. I can't say enough good things about the chef/owner. His skill and hospitality are what separates Iza from just about every other sushi place. Anytime I have a special occasion, I will be back.
